Scratch final Project finally done!

Final project
It's finally done! I had so much problems while doing this that made me need to change my plans. Now my final idea is that one of the mice is the special one that brings you to the next level. If you get it you get smaller. The lower the score the better. I had many problems along the way. My biggest was that I had no idea how to make different levels. I am sorry but make a block was a problem that was too hard because it kept glitching out my project. I trouble shooted and found that it was infact make a block. This was a fun project though.

New final project idea

I have a new idea for what I want to do for my final project. I am going to make a game where you need to eat mice and when you get a certain number of points your character evolves. It is like a game for the iPhone called alpaca. This is going to be challenging but I can do it.

Semester 2 final project

I have a great idea for my game. I am going to make flappy bird on scratch! I will use the events and make it so the up arrow makes the bird go up and the down makes the bird go down. Then I will make levels and each level will get harder. The harder the stage the more points for completion.

Debug

Debug 1
Debug 2
Debug 3
Debug 4
Debug 5
For all 5 of these I didn't really need to think because they were all really easy. It is just a matter of playing it a few times to see the problem then going and fixing that problem. Out of all of them the fifth was the longest to do but was also very easy. The fastest one was four because all we had to do was add one block and it was done. In my opinion the Debug it was way easier than the other one.

Number 5

Excuse me
This is very easy. It helps to make conversations better. I just experimented until I found it. I can use this for my project and possibly make cool stories using this new feature.

Number 1

Size changes
In this problem we had to make it so that the sprite gets bigger when the b key is pressed and smaller when the s key is pressed. All we have to do is go under events and choose the block that says "when _ is pressed" then set it to s or b. Then just put a change size by 10 under it.

Number 9

Mouse follows pointer
I like this because it allows the sprite to interact more with the user. I just looked around until I found a block that says go to mouse pointer. I think I might use this for my game.

Change backdrops

Backdrop
This is really helpful because now I can make a project with scene changes so it will be like a movie. This is a really helpful tool that can improve anyone's project. In order for the backdrop to change you need to go under looks and choose the "switch backdrop" block.

Conversations penguin joke

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23247024/
I really like the broadcast feature of scratch. It brings conversations to a new level and now it is like they are really talking to each other. It is confusing at first but if you combined it with make a block you can make a whole conversation and put it in one block.
My second one

Make a block

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/23245614/
Make a block was a fun experience. It wouldn't be very useful in small projects but in big projects it would really help. In order to make a block you put together a bunch of commands then click "make a block". You name your block and that block when activated does everything in the commands you originally had all in one.

Debug-it Reflection

The debugging activity was another great activity that helped me learn more about scratch. This activity helped me learn about blocks by making me correct them. A strategy that I used was I would look at the blocks that were already there and see if I could fix it with only them. But, if I saw that I needed new blocks I used different ones and experimented. Usually, if I still couldn't get it, it would be Chris who found it and he would show me. If I had to help someone debug I would show them where the problem is and leave it to them to correct it. This was a very fun experience and it helped me learn how to fix scratch projects.

Debug 5

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22978112/
This one was easier than number 4 so number 4 was the hardest. All we had to do was put the sound in the repeat box as well as the words. But, the words had to go below the sound.

Debug 4

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22933466/
This one was the hardest one yet. But, I experimented and found that if you set the rotation from left to right it fixes it.

Excell

Sorry this is late but it got deleted. I think the excel unit was a great experience that taught me how to organize information in an appealing way. Excel is really cool and it does thing that i would never be able to do any where else. What really shocked me about excel was that it can do math for you. There is no need for a calculator when using excel. Thanks to computer apps I can now use excel when doing a school project.

Debug 3

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22924865/
The problem was that the cat was moving, but it was moving too fast to see. That is why waits needed to be added in between each rotation so that it is slow enough to see.

Debug 2

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22924501/
We needed to add a command that brought the cat to a specific coordinate. We set it to -161,-4 and put it directly under the green flag command.

debug it 1

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22924177/
Me and Chris found the problem. We needed to add a green flag command.

10 blocks challenge

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22812109/#editor
The 10 block challenge was a great experience for me because it helped me learn more about scratch and it helped me get better at scratch. I learned more because before the challenge I didn't know what show or hide did, but now I know what they do. It also helped me get better at scratch because it limited me to a few blocks and taught me to work and make a good project with only certain kinds of blocks.

Scratch

http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/22810728/#editor
I was really surprised by how easy scratch can be when you know what everything does. Also we have done something like this before but I can't remember the name of it. I thought that this was really easy because we got to go step by step and if learned what a lot of the blocks do. As a learner I like having someone instruct me when I am looking at new material but once I know what I am doing I like the freedom to go and do my own activities to get better at it. I feel most creative when I have more things to use and when I understand better.

This was a really fun activity that I really liked because I really understood this. In middle school I took computer coding (I Forget most of it) and I knew what some of the stuff ment. I liked making my own things instead of being limited like I usually am.

My Favorite Webpage

I would like a webpage that has its information organized and easy to access. I don't like webpages that have a jumble of information and you can't understand anything. For my webpage I want to have my information easy to access and easy to understand.
